Welcome – About Me

I started this Foster Care Survivors website and shared my story for many reasons, some of which include:

  • I wanted to have a place to share information and resources with other survivors, current foster parents, potential foster parents, and all others wanting to make a difference.
  • A place to share stories and/or news is difficult to find, and support is an essential part of healing for all of us.
  • Awareness is the key to change.
  • I believe it is impossible to have too many people working together to stop abuse of any kind.

I am a foster care survivor, and I am sharing my story with you to create awareness. I am hopeful to help make a change; even if I help only one child, survivor, parent, or potential foster parent, I will have used the negative in my life to create something positive. I am also a Mom to 5 wonderful children and one tiny angel, a registered nurse, artist, and dreamer.

Thank you for visiting my site, and please leave me a message as I look forward to meeting you. I wish you peace and happiness.

You’re an amazing women, having gone through all that abuse and yet still having the strength to share your story. Thank you for that! I was just wondering if you could possibly help me out with my research assignment and complete a survey relating to cultural and social norms affecting wife battering?

  4. Christine Gibbs

I wrote a book called Before You Judge Me by ChristineA Gibbs, I wrote it as fiction, but it depicts my experience in fostercare and what young girls endure when they decide to run away from the abuse. It is my soul I gave in hopes of setting someone elses free. I am 43 and I am still haunted sometimes. My heart goes out to anyone who has endured this. This is my story, I pray it heals and you the reader realize you are not alone.
